Vijana amani pamoja is a Swahili word known as Youths together in peace. Its a charitable organization based in Nairobi the capital city of Kenya founded in 2003 with a Vision of a society that is socially, economically and empowered.
Their mission is to integrate social and economic values through soccer by creating a pro_active health environment.
We use football to socially empower, support and develop life skills of young people from disadvantaged communities in Nairobi through programs such as the skills Kenya HIV&AIDS program, Mrembo girls program using Goal curriculum to offer life skills, soccer and financial literacy to the adolescent, Stop TB, Arsenal double club, Kick out corruption program and vocational training for the disadvantaged girls with income generating activities like the salon and a restaurant where girls can acquire skills to be able to earn.
The programs involves our youths in thematic tournaments and leagues involving boys addressing pressing issues from the community and individuals.
Recruitment to work with more schools in this Mrembo program is continuous since we provide both male and female coaches from this organization.
Girls who benefit from our program participate in the Wasichana Wacheze league to show their abilities, share experiences, raise self esteem, opportunity to make friends and enjoy the safe space through football. Next league will be on February 2016 with an annual Miss Mrembo tournament.
