Women's Football and Culture Festival
DISCOVER FOOTBALL Festival 2021 – 5th – 8th August 2021
The event included workshops, training sessions, socializing and cultural events, as well as three days of fun-oriented football games in newly mixed teams. This enabled increased communication on and off the pitch between practitioners who have met each other for the first time! Maintaining the idea of bringing together people from all over the world on the basis of football, developing and improving football and coaching skills, the event focused on football as a tool to discuss and confront health issues and gender inequality. The Covid-19 pandemic span across the globe and made us shift our attention to the topic of “HEALTH” at this year’s festival.
During one week (3rd to 9th of August) around 80 womxn worked together and built a network ! Besides the internal programme we opened the Willy-Kressmann-Stadium for public for a football tournament, Open – Air Cinema, female hip hop concert and more.

The DISCOVER FOOTBALL Festival 2021 was financed by the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Buiilding and Community and the DFB Kulturstiftung. The festival was supported by Hertha BSC and Bezirksamt Friedrichshain Kreuzberg.
